How Metaverse will shape the future of workplace

The NS LAB report, curated by Scuola IMT Alti Studi Lucca, examines the impact of the metaverse on the future of workplace and the industrial applications of immersive environments

The report "How Metaverse will shape the future of workplace" focuses, starting from fundamental technologies, on the impact of immersive environments/metaverse on the workplace and on the industrial applications also for non-finance sectors. Furthermore, it summarizes the dimensions analyzed by the NS LAB “Metaverse4ISP” applied research project, among the first in the literature to operate in this context. The report contains:

• an initial part that deals with the fundamental technological elements of the Metaverse concept (Virtual reality, extended reality, augmented reality, AI, digital twins)
• a central part about industrial applications and the impact of the metaverse on the workplace in industries such as health, school and university, culture, tourism.
• the final part with a summary of the results of the “Metaverse4ISP” research project
