Innovation Experience | Inclusion - Jumple

Startup, Stories of Innovation

Inclusion is everyone's right. Making a commitment to promote social and scholastic inclusion means doing something concrete so that all people are guaranteed the same rights. Innovation in this sense can contribute to change in addressing everyday social challenges.

Jumple is a startup made up of a team with a passion for innovation, and aims to revolutionize the retail experience through the use of humanoid robots. Officially founded in 2019, by the guys participating in the Make It Real - Robothon Edition hackathon held inside the Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center in June 2018.

Together with Intesa Sanpaolo, they participated in the "Sugar, Salt & Pepper - Humanoid robots for autism" project with the aim of bringing skills related to educational and social robotics into line with the needs of children and young people with disabilities. The trial was based on a weekly therapeutic laboratory for the development of autonomy in children with a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder.

In the laboratory activities, exchanges and interactions in a rehabilitation context were observed and analysed, with a focus on language, communication, emotions and the enhancement of social skills. In this context, the Pepper robot programmed by Jumple was used as an assistant to the operators - psychologists, neuropsychomotor specialists, educators, speech therapists - while following the activities in which the children are independently engaged.
